Today we are announcing a new feature called 'In the
Studio.' Here you can hear new works being composed as
they move from beginning sketches to finished pieces.

side.
Triumph
It's been a while since I've posted an update on the
progress of this piece. With all the moving, company,
traveling, and other life stuff that's been happening I
haven't had as much time to work on this piece as I
would have liked. Nevertheless, I have new material to
show.

Quick Update

I'm currently in the process of moving my studio
downtown, so my video podcasts will be on hold till the
end of June. In the meantime, I'm continuing to work on
the projects I've outlined in my last couple of videos.
Hopefully both of these compositions will be finished
or near completion by September. As usual, when I
resume podcasting I'll bring you up to date on my
progress.
The reason I'm moving my studio downtown is so that I'll be closer to where opportunities are. Being situated between the campus and the downtown area will let me reach out to student and independent filmmakers plus tap into the vibrant arts community that exist here. Once everything is set up I'll take you on tour of my set up. :)

Okay...
I admit that I've been a little bit lax on the
podcasting as of late. However, I've been fairly busy
as I'm in the process of moving to a new apartment and
have begun work on yet another orchestral piece (not
the one I mentioned in the last podcast.) This new
piece has the working title of 'Triumph' though I'm
sure the title will change before I'm finished.

Changes to the Podcast

I'm changing the format of my podcasts to hopefully
make them more engaging. Although the topics in my
earlier views are fascinating, they're really more
appropriate for a written blog entry where topics can
be covered in greater detail. So instead of having one
topic that I discuss for ten minutes, I decided to
break my podcast into three segments. Read

Fiction Writers for Romanticism

If you're a fan of my music and a fan of literary
fiction from authors like Ayn Rand and Victor Hugo,
this new Google group may be of interest to
you. The group is called Fiction Writers for Romanticism.
The premise behind it is to form a group of
writers to write fiction that appeals to that
rational and passionate sense-of-life shared by so
many who are Objectivists. Although I don't write
fiction myself, I'll be keeping close tabs on this
group as I may start a similar one for composers
and musicians. Here's an excerpt from the blurb on
the group's main page:
Welcome to Fiction Writers for Romanticism, where Objectivists and students of Objectivism, who also seek to write fiction (and are probably already working on something), can chat.
Beginning writers and amateurs and professionals are all welcome.
I created this group because I think that one of the ways to create a more rational culture is to encourage the creation of works of art that reward the rational elements in people -- works that ultimately create a feeling that rationality ultimately works and will lead to joy. Just like in real life.
